H&M Singapore started selling their Marni stuff at 8am on 8 March 2012!
As usual, there were people who queued up overnight for it!
These photos are of those who came to queue in the morning, photo taken at around 11am.
I did not want to wait 12 hrs or more on the street! So I went at 9.30am and was quite surprised that they had already finished distributing the colored bracelets(with these, you get to go in at an allocated time slot)!
So we had to queue up for our chance to buy the collection(we can only enter after 11.30am)! They allowed about 40 people at any one time, pretty good crowd control! So we sat down and waited in line for 2 hrs! By the time it was our turn, there were still quite alot to choose from! However, the people at the front of our line swept the entire accessories collection leaving us with only earrings and sunglasses! Too bad for us, we lost the chance to buy it but it saved our purses!
I first learned about Marni in 2002, when I was working for Club21 Singapore. Usually when you first tell people "Marni" they will tell you "oh Armani arh!". It really happens very often! When I was standing in line, I was really curious of all the people who were there, how many actually knew about the brand prior to the collaboration with H&M! I guess H&M's collaboration with these high street fashion can really create a greater awareness for their brand and of course, generate sales!
I am happy with my purchase taking into consideration it only took me 2 hrs and not 12 hrs! I managed to grab the last box of bangles (some kind soul changed their mind), a pair of sandals, a dress and a scarf!
